Apple’s latest entry-level iPad dates from March last year, and it comes with the A16 Bionic chip paired with 6GB of RAM. A new rumor from a usually reliable source in Japan today claims that a new entry-level iPad will be made official sometime this spring.

This device will look identical to its predecessor, but will be powered by the A18 chip (first seen in the iPhone 16) and will get 8GB of RAM. That means it will support Apple Intelligence, since that RAM amount appears to be the minimum required.
