10 Best achievements you don’t want to miss in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic

Published on:

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic is already here, following a long period of waiting through Cataclysm. The expansion takes us all around Pandaria, introduces some of the best raids in the history of WoW, and adds many new features. With pet battles, new factions to befriend, scenarios, challenge modes, and more, there’s no shortage of things to do.

Perhaps you want to complete every achievement in the game, or maybe you just want to get some useful or cool stuff to show off to your guildies. As an avid WoW player of nearly 20 years, I’ve got you covered either way. I’m here to show you the 10 best achievements that WoW: MoP Classic has to offer.

The Escapist recaps

  • World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic has introduced hundreds of new achievements.
  • Some of them offer outstanding rewards, including mounts, toys, titles, or access to unique features.
  • Others are worth doing just because of the fun experience they provide on top of the rewards.
  • WoW: MoP Classic will continue receiving updates throughout the expansion, with some exciting achievements still yet to come.

1. Challenge Conqueror

Many may not remember this, but it was Mists of Pandaria that first introduced Challenge Modes. They later evolved into the Mythic+ dungeons we know from the retail version of WoW, and they’ll still be present in WoW: Midnight. Getting these done is an absolute must during the course of the expansion, as these achievements will go away once MoP comes to an end.

Completing all dungeons in Challenge mode on Bronze gives you a title, “the Undaunted.” Scaling up to Silver lets you pick from one of four Pandaren Phoenix mounts. Challenge Conqueror: Gold gives you a unique set of armor for your class that you can transmogrify your gear into, plus you can teleport to each dungeon.

2. The Anglers

Right, so, not everyone loves fishing in World of Warcraft. I personally do, but if you don’t, I get it. Still, there’s a good reason to pick up fishing in MoP, as it gives you access to a highly useful mount.

The Azure Water Strider is unique in the sense that it can walk on water. No more swimming or drinking water-walking elixirs — this odd-looking thing is all you need.

This mount becomes available once you hit Exalted with The Anglers, which is an achievement all on its own. Be ready for various dailies and a lot of fishing.

3. Scenaturday + Pub Crawl

WoW: MoP Classic also introduces scenarios. They don’t offer great gear, but don’t sleep on these, as they’re a load of fun.

The Pub Crawl achievement sends you all over the place, completing various brew-related tasks. You’ll get an Honorary Brewmaster Keg toy as a reward.

You can also get a title, “the Scenaturdist” (a rather unique one, if I do say so myself), if you complete all of the scenarios on a Saturday.

4. Pet Battles

Pet Battles bring a long list of new achievements to WoW Classic. Mixing Pokémon with World of Warcraft turns out to be shockingly fun, and personally, I’m just as addicted now as I was back in 2013.

Notable achievements here include Taming the World, which awards you a Safari Hat for 10% extra experience for your pets. Other achievements give you various titles, including “Zookeeper,” “Trainer,” “Tamer, and “Crazy Cat Man/Lady.” It all comes down to catching, leveling, or battling using your pets, so dig right in and enjoy the adventure.

5. Brawler’s Guild

Brawler’s Guild becomes available in Phase 2 of MoP, and alongside Mists of Pandaria raids, it’s one of the things many players remember most fondly from the expansion.

In Brawler’s Guild, you can test yourself in a series of fun 1v1 battles against various NPCs. The goal is to climb the ranks, earn achievements, and unlock access to various rewards (that are tied to your rank).

Aside from several achievements, you can also get the “Brawler” title, a tabard, a shirt, and the ability to buy and resell invitations, as the Brawler’s Guild is an invite-only club.

6. The Lorewalkers

If you’re a huge World of Warcraft lore buff, this is one achievement you cannot miss. And if you’re not? You still shouldn’t miss it, because getting Exalted with The Lorewalkers gives you some fun perks.

This is a unique faction, where getting to Exalted only takes an hour or two once you can fly in Pandaria. You fly all around, exploring various artifacts and learning more about the story of this expansion. Once Exalted, you get access to a Disc of the Red Flying Cloud mount, which is truly iconic. This faction also makes Archeology a lot less of a chore (or a lot more fun, if you’re already a fan).

7. 60 Exalted Reputations

Achievements for getting Exalted with a bunch of factions are nothing new, but this one really kicks things up a notch. To get Exalted with 60 factions in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic, you’ll need to go all around the world and explore everything every continent has to offer.

It’s not easy to do, and becoming best friends with various farmers (part of the Tillers faction) doesn’t count towards this achievement.

If you have the patience to farm this achievement, you’ll get a title that many people will never have: “the Beloved.”

8. Proving Grounds

Proving Grounds are similar to the Brawler’s Guild in the sense that it’s just you against the world. You’ll be fighting waves of enemies, completing tiers from Bronze to Silver, Gold, and Endless.

You can compete in the Proving Grounds as a tank, healer, or DPS, and each comes with its own achievement. You’ll be awarded three distinct titles if you beat Endless as every spec available: “the Proven Assailant,” “the Proven Defender,” and (surprise, surprise) “the Proven Healer.”

Proving Grounds get added to the game later on during Mists of Pandaria and are unavailable at launch.

9. Glory of the Pandaria Raider

“Glory of the Raider” achievements are not to be missed in any expansion; Mists of Pandaria raids are no exception.

The first tier of this achievement isn’t easy, as you’ll need to complete three distinct raids to get it. If you can defeat all bosses of Mogu’shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, and Terrace of Endless Springs on Heroic difficulty, plus complete a bunch of other achievements, you’ll get your Glory.

This achievement awards you the Heavenly Crimson Cloud Serpent mount. You’ll also get Cutting Edge achievements for each raid if you do these before the release of Throne of Thunder, which means that you only have a short window of time to complete these if you want to also score that Feat of Strength.

If you’re more into Mists of Pandaria dungeons, there’s a separate achievement for that, Glory of the Pandaria Hero, which gets you another mount.

10. Wakener

The Wakener achievement is unique. I’d call it the cherry on top of completing the Dread Wastes storyline. It grants you “the Wakener” as a title, but perhaps the more important part is the storyline that leads up to it.

All throughout the Dread Wastes, you explore the story of the Klaxxi. You help free some of the Klaxxi Paragons and awake them from their slumber, as they’re encased in amber. In this achievement, you become an honorary Klaxxi Paragon yourself.

Besides the title, the lore, and the fun factor, doing this achievement will make it a lot easier for you to get exalted with the Klaxxi, which comes with rewards of its own.
