Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker is a political streamer who has said a lot of questionable things that have upset basically every political party, but the straw that finally broke the camel’s back? HasanAbi allegedly has been using a shock collar to force his dog to lay in place during his livestreams.
And he’d probably break a camel’s back, too!
I have been unable to use TikTok or X without being bombarded with conspiracy theories about HasanAbi using a shock collar on his golden retriever, including one video showing a four-hour time lapse of the dog laying there. The comments are largely in agreement that HasanAbi is either shocking the dog every time it tries to get up or at least trained the dog so severely that it knows it can’t leave that spot in his room.
The reason? Apparently, to get views for having a cute dog in the background.
“They’re claiming the most well-trained and the most spoiled, best-kept-after dog on the planet is actually being abused by me, apparently,” HasanAbi said in response to the backlash over the last few days. “Because I gave her the place command while she was getting off [the bed] and then she yelped.”
HasanAbi claimed that the yelp was caused by his dog stepping on something and went on to say that the rumor was started by haters. It’s definitely true that HasanAbi has a ton of haters, including content creators he’s had disagreements with and plenty of people aligned with all sides of the political spectrum as he continues to say very jarring statements on stream.
Streamers react to HasanAbi dog abuse claims
Some ” haters ” who don’t believe HasanAbi include Charles “MoistCritical” White, Felix “xQc” Lengyel, and long-time rival Ethan Klein.
The yelping is what truly confused MoistCritical: “I don’t see anything she could have hurt herself on. To me, it feels like something he did. Even if it’s not a full-blown shock, he didn’t get her with a Dungeons & Dragons lightning bolt… If it is a vibrate-only unit, he definitely pressed ‘vibrate’ in that instance.
“If that’s the case, that’s super fucked up. She didn’t do anything wrong. There’s nothing that warranted him being upset in the first place. To be upset enough to press a correctional button on that device is so beyond fucked.”
Klein, who had a falling out with HasanAbi over the Middle East conflict, purchased the shock collar that HasanAbi has admitted using in the past. He wore it himself and admitted that the shock wasn’t powerful at all. He even wondered if a dog would yelp from something so minimal. While Klein still believed that HasanAbi used a shock collar on his dog, he felt the situation could be overblown.
While the shock collar may not be harmful, the streaming community is still outraged that HasanAbi is possibly forcing his dog to lie down for such long periods. xQc questioned why everyone keeps talking about the dog being “well-trained.”
There has been no further discussion from the streamer himself. Another day, another streamer controversy.
